Wetlands and Forests
Louisiana's warm, subtropical climate, thanks to its location within the Gulf of Mexico, sets the stage for some truly one-of-a-kind scenery. It's a big shift from some of the landscapes in our previous map expansions. The Pelican State's terrain is broadly divided into three distinct regions: dense forests, sweeping prairies, and expansive marshlands, each offering its own unique scenery and atmosphere. The state offers 22 national parks as well as many impeccable nature trails, paddling routes, fishing areas, and more.
INDUSTRY
Port Fourchon
Situated at the end of Louisiana Highway 1, this massive industrial hub is at the heart of the region’s offshore oil and gas industry, with thousands of trucks passing through every day to keep operations moving. Our map team wanted to capture that same sense of scale and importance in-game, giving players a true taste of what it’s like to deliver to a key industrial hub supporting a wide range of sectors across the USA.

Custom Made Depots
Unlike standard prefabs, these depots have been carefully assembled by our map designers using a variety of assets, giving each one a distinct look and feel. Many also draw subtle inspiration from real-world locations. We'll be showing five of them: three farms and two timber harvest depots.

Building Louisiana with Lukas
Louisiana is one of the most interesting projects I've been a part of. Its architecture stands out for its rich blend of cultural influences, vibrant history, and distinctive styles. From the elegant French Quarter in New Orleans to the charming Creole cottages and plantation homes along the Mississippi River, the state showcases a fascinating mix of French, Spanish, African, and Caribbean elements. One of the most notable architectural features of Louisiana is its impressive bridges. Louisiana is also home to several unique technical landmarks related to water management, including the flood barriers around New Orleans.

Shreveport
Shreveport owes much of its identity to its location along the Red River. Truckers entering the city will cross a number of key bridges, including one of the most recognizable rail bridges in the region. With the river flowing through its heart, Shreveport is both a scenic and practical hub for commerce and transportation.

Looking forward to trucking in Louisiana? When driving to this upcoming map expansion for American Truck Simulator, the first thing you'll encounter when crossing in or out of the Pelican State might be its welcome centers - ready to provide visitors with all the essential information. As you explore, you'll also come across convenient rest areas and weigh stations along the way.

We'll be showcasing a selection of iconic bridges that you’ll be able to drive across in this upcoming map expansion. These structures aren’t just impressive feats of engineering; they are crucial lifelines that connect Louisiana’s cities, industries, and communities. And yes, we’ve made sure they look just as grand in-game as they do in real life!
ROAD NETWORK
Road Network
Let's start with two toll gates you will regularly pass through. The first one is located in the very south of the state on LA-1 on the way to Port Fourchon. You will come across the other toll gate on the northern bank of Lake Pontchartrain, right at the entrance to the stunning bridge, which is actually the longest continuous bridge over water in the world, spanning almost 24 miles across the lake to New Orleans.

Embark on a journey to the Pelican State nestled in the south of the U.S.. Discover the subtropical climate of the state which has provided the magnificent brooding scenery of the coastal bayous, and the lush, dank vegetation.
Truckers can look forward to the beautiful and iconic landscape of this southern state, historical cities like New Orleans and Baton Rouge, miles and miles of long stretching roads, and also the Mississippi River delta that has helped shape how the area looks today.
